Sunday. While we cooked here in the South East in temperatures of nearly 30 degrees, our adventurers soldiered on through torential rain. Leaving Carlisle, they managed to take a wrong turn which took them through miles of stunning mountain scenery, but returned them to where they started! It was an endurance test for the bikes too, negotiating a 50% gradient hill at one point. Having lost time, they opted for the M6 to by-pass Manchester and Liverpool and then slipped into North Wales. Camping at Llangollen tonight, and looking forward to riding through Snowdonia tomorrow.

Sunday the 11th of May.
Hiya, Bill, Ken, John and David.
I told you what Sat- Nav is like; you just can't beat a good old-fashioned paper road map. Think of the thrill of struggling with it on windswept, soaking wet hilltops. You'll know better next time.
Well done for getting to Llangollen so quickly.
Best of luck; and may the sun be always out of your eyes.
Best wishes, Pat and Rob North Frodingham.
